How Do I Become A Christian?
A Christian is a person who has decided to follow Jesus Christ with their whole lives. If you have never committed to doing this, please really consider doing so. The Bible says that "now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2b).
If you would like to know about God's story and how you fit into this, then VISIT HERE or watch the video-clip below.
Consider taking the following steps to commit your life to God:
Admit. Admit that you have done wrong (the Bible calls this sin) and that you need God (Romans 3:23-26).
Believe. Believe that God was born to us in the flesh through Jesus Christ. Believe that Jesus died on the cross for all of your sins, and believe that you can have eternal life in and through him (John 3:16-17, John 14:6, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 2:1-2).
Confess. Confess your sin to God and accept his forgiveness and salvation (1 John 1:8-9). Every one of us chooses to live our lives as we want, as we engage in sinful, broken and destructive behaviors - things which ultimately alienate us from God. As we confess our need of God to him, and own up to our sin, God's forgiveness and healing can take place in our lives.
Dedicate. Dedicate yourself completely to following Jesus Christ, making him Lord of your life. Receiving God’s gift of forgiveness through Jesus will set you in a new direction because now you’re following Christ (Romans 10:9; Luke 9:23).
Express. Express your faith in Christ publicly. This may be difficult to do, but ask God to help you do this (Matthew 10:32-33; Acts 1:8, Romans 1:16; Romans 10:9-10). One way you can do this, is to be baptized if you haven't already (Acts 2:38)
Find. Find other followers of Jesus at a Christian church near you, who can encourage you and walk with you in your new spiritual journey (Hebrews 10:24-25). You are very welcome to join us at Gardiner Community Church!
